THE DEAD ZONE

by Stephen King

“I love to see this guy get a beatin’.”

An eerie run of luck on the Wheel of Fortune at a local carnival sends Johnny Smith [into the Dead Zone] and his girlfriend, Sarah, on their way home. Later that night, a Dodge Charger slams Johnny into [the Dead Zone] a four-and-a-half year long coma.

When Johnny wakes up, he discovers there are things far worse than being in a coma. Things like being able to scan the past and future of certain people through only a single touch. Like knowing what they’re thinking. Like knowing something unspeakable is going to happen and only he can stop it.
